The Finger Print Technician is responsible for the fingerprinting of citizens and registering Criminal Registrations and Sex Offenders/Predators. Citizens that are required to submit their finger prints for jobs or other reasons can also be fingerprinted at the Sheriff’s Office. Criminal registrations consist of convicted felons and career offenders, registering when they are released from prison or when they move into Leon County from another jurisdiction. Sex Offenders/Predators are required to register at required intervals by Florida Statute.
Effective Thursday, October 1, 2020: Fingerprinting services will re-open to the public BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Fees apply. Please call (850) 606-3350 to schedule your appointment.

Sexual offender/predator, career offender, and criminal registrations are completed Monday , Wednesday and Fridays ONLY between 8:30am-11:30am and 1:00pm-4:30pm
Sex Offenders are now able to report in-state travel information to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office via email.
If you will be traveling within the state of Florida for 3 consecutive nights, you can send an email to the email address: sexoffendertravel@leoncountyfl.gov
The email must contain:
Full name, DOB, last 4 of SSN, dates you will be traveling (must provide a begin date and an end date) and the address you will be staying at. If you will be staying at multiple locations, please provide the date you will be at each location. You will still need to check in with the local Sheriff’s Office for the county you will be visiting.
THIS EMAIL OPTION IS FOR SEX OFFENDERS ONLY. IF YOU ARE A SEXUAL PREDATOR, YOU MUST REPORT THE INFORMATION IN PERSON. AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY FOR IN- STATE TRAVEL. IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING OUT OF STATE, YOU MUST COME IN PERSON TO REPORT THE INFORMATION.
FEES:
All fees are payable by check or money order ONLY, made payable to the Leon County Sheriff's Office. Currently, credit card/debit card and cash payments are NOT accepted.
The fingerprinting fee is $5.00. If you need it to be printed for Name Change it is $43.75 (that includes the $5.00 fee) and for a Concealed Weapon Permit it is $34.75 (that includes the $5.00 fee)
